At this time, the Tacoma Public Library is unable to offer obituary look up requests as they have in the past. TPCGS is offering this service in the Pierce County area to accommodate the needs of the Library’s many patrons.

We will do our best to provide the obituary. Please be aware that you are paying for the research and that we look in all available resources, but we cannot guarantee that we will find one.

Responses will be delayed due to the indefinite closure of the Washington State Library where newspapers for the state are filed on microfilm. We will be able to request films through interlibrary loans, but they may take a week or more to obtain before any can be viewed, and then only at a facility with a microfilm viewer. We sincerely hope that library funding will quickly be restored by the state legislature so that this marvelous resource will again be available.
